About the Service

What areas are covered by the shuttle service?

The shuttle service and base fares (Lisbon - 36€; Porto - 29€) are valid for any location on a 10 km radius from the center of Coimbra. Other locations in Coimbra’s district, outside of the 10 km range, are charged an additional fee.

The airport shuttle takes me directly to my accommodation or leaves me at a drop off point in the city?

Our shuttle takes you to, or picks you up, as close as possible to the accommodation informed (private House, Hotel or other location), taking into account the physical characteristics of the vehicle and access to the contracted address. In case your pick-up/drop-off point is in a narrow or pedestrian street you will be picked-up or dropped-off at the nearest available point.

How will I find the Shuttle?

Transportation is handled in 9 seat black vans, or other standard passenger cars, clearly marked with the brand “Coimbra Airport Shuttle” on all sides, making it easy for you to identify them. On Coimbra Airport Shuttle tickets, you can find maps with the pick-up location at the Airports.

How long does the ride take?

Your trip between Coimbra and Lisbon airport takes about 2h15 min., and your trip between Coimbra and Oporto airport takes about 1h45 min. Transfers are shared with other clients and may have several stops according to our reservations prior to the departure for the airport. We do not take any responsibility for delays caused by traffic congestion, road or weather conditions.

How do I know the pick-up time for departure?

Pick-ups within a 10 km radius from the Coimbra city centre may start one hour before departure to the airport, depending on the number of passengers to pick-up and distances travelled. For pick-ups outside this range, please read Pick-up/Drop-off on Terms and Conditions of service. When the pick-up service starts, we share with you our driver’s mobile number and shuttle tracking location link via text message. You will be notified by text message when you are the next passenger to be picked-up. In case you fail to show up our driver will call you and wait for a maximum of 5 minutes.

What happens if the shuttle is late?

If the delay of our shuttle service implies for the passenger additional expenses, the client must prove them with supporting documentation so that we can analyze the possible reimbursement of all the expenses that the client has incurred.

What happens if I can’t find the shuttle at the airport?

You must call our Customer Care number that is on your ticket, and you will be directed to the driver or an assistant.

What flight arrival/ departure time should I indicate?

You must provide the time that is shown on the flight tickets, without modifying, because they already have the time according to the local time.

If the flight is delayed, will the shuttle be waiting for me?

In case your flight or luggage delivery gets extremely delayed we do not wait for you, but we allow you to get on the next shuttle with available seats. Our customer care monitors flight status and will get in contact with you to help you arrange your transfer to Coimbra. Departures from Lisbon at 00:15h and Porto at 01:00h may wait up to one hour for any passenger delays related to flights, luggage claim, customs inspection, or border control.

I left one of my belongings in the shuttle, what should I do?

If you lost an item in one of our vans/cars please get in contact with our Customer Care (+351 304 505 304).

Booking the Service

Can I book a shuttle for the same day?

Yes as long as the schedule service is available. In case your preferred schedule is unavailable please get in contact with our Customer Care.

How far in advance should I make my booking?

Bookings should be made at least 24 hours in advance in order to guarantee the requested schedule.

How much luggage am I allowed to carry?

Each passenger is allowed: one checked suitcase and one personal item (e.g., a purse or a computer bag or a shoulder bag). The overall dimensions of the suitcase must not exceed 158 cm (height + length + width).You may take extra suitcases for an extra fee. Should you require to transport bikes, surf boards, ski/snowboard gear, baby buggy, golf clubs or any other oversized luggage, you should get in contact with our Customer Care (+351 304 505 304).

Obs.: Our vehicle will be adequate for the number of people travelling and luggage contracted. Any excess luggage must be declared at the time of booking. The client shall be liable for all additional expenses incurred, including the cost of obtaining additional vehicles to transport non-declared excess luggage and we reserve the right to refuse to carry the items of excess luggage.

If I travel with a child do I need to carry my own infant seat?

Coimbra Airport Shuttle provides baby and booster seats for an extra fee. You must require this item at the time of booking or, you may bring your own baby or booster seats for children or infants. In this case, it will be expected for you to fit the seat.

Obs.: Should you fail to notify us that minors are included in your booking, the shuttle service shall be subject to availability of suitable child seats in the vehicle. In the event of child seats availability, an extra charge will be requested on spot. In the event there are no child seats available, the price of the service shall not be refunded and there is no liability or responsibility to you for the provision of transfer services.

Do children have a discount?

No discount is applied to babies or children as each passenger must have its own seat.

How can I pay for my booking?

Bookings can be paid through PayPal, credit card, debit card, MB reference or PayShop. To guarantee your booking, when paying with MB reference or PayShop, you must pay within 24 hours after making your booking.

Are there any additional taxes to be payed?

All advertised rates at airportshuttle.pt include VAT at the prevailing rate. No other taxes will be charged.
